SINGAPORE - Iconic British rock band Queen, together with American vocalist Adam Lambert, will perform at this year's Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix, organisers announced on Monday.

They will be joined at the Sept 16-18 event by music stars Kylie Minogue, Bastille, Pentatonix and KC and the Sunshine Band.

Australian pop star Minogue will be the headline act at the Padang Stage of the Marina Bay Street Circuit on Sept 16 (Friday) while Queen + Adam Lambert will perform on Sept 17 (Saturday), both after the last track activity.

More acts, including Sunday's final headline performance, will be announced at a later date.

In addition, the layout for the Padang Stage has been revised and will be situated between Padang Grandstand A and Grandstand B, facing Connaught Drive and Esplande Park.

The new central location will increase the Fan Zone capacity and split it into six sections for easier and safer crowd control.

The new layout will also provide easier access out of the Circuit Park via St Andrew's Road and Fullerton Road.

This will be the ninth edition of the Singapore GP, first held in 2008. It remains the only night race in the Formula 1 calendar.

Last year's race winner was Sebastian Vettel, who won his fourth Singapore Grand Prix since 2011.
