Trudging home after unwanted piano lessons as children, sisters Karen and Elaine Yeo never dreamed they would end up spending half their lives playing together in the national orchestra.

Karen, 54, joined the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) in 1988 and is the fixed chair double bass.
