Last Saturday, shoppers at VivoCity might have been surprised by a surge in human traffic in the late afternoon.

Many people could be seen walking around, eyes glued to their mobile phones and fingers swiping the screens of their devices. They are fans of mobile game Pokemon Go, there to attend a monthly game event called community day.
