Go glamping in Bandung, Indonesia. Indonesia correspondent Arlina Arshad ventures into the wilds in comfort in her travelogue, which kicks off The Straits Times' new travelogue series Perfect Weekend, on April 16.

Visit the eastenmost point of Thailand, Ubon Ratchathani. Located in the Isan region, the province is growing rapidly, from a backwater stopover to a vibrant attraction with artisan eateries and boutique hotels, says Thailand correspondent Tan Hui Yee.

Tour the oldest city in Taiwan with our correspondent Jermyn Chow, who says the city is full of soul and packed with hipster cafes.

These are just three places featured in our 10-part series, helmed by The Straits Times' foreign correspondents. Stationed around the world in 12 bureaus, they will be your insider guide to where the best spots to eat and play will be at these destinations, most of which are just a short flight away from Singapore.

The series begins on April 16 in Sunday Life. In the meantime, here is a little snapshot of what to expect.

Happy travels!
