SIA's Singapore-Newark service: Getting comfy for world's longest flight

SIA is sparing no effort to help passengers feel and look good when its new non-stop S'pore-Newark service, which covers 16,700km in 19 hours, launches in October.

A 19-hour flight from Singapore to Newark is not the easiest of journeys. For that, Singapore Airlines will ensure a good rest, great food and extra in-flight entertainment for passengers.

Passengers will be served three meals, with snacks in between.

Meal timings and menus have not been finalised but the idea is to avoid ingredients such as beans that make some feel bloated and cause gas, Ms Wong said.
