SINGAPORE - Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) are holding a joint public consultation exercise to seek public opinion and views on the Asean Community Blueprints, the MFA said in a statement on Sunday.

The exercise for the Asean Community Blueprints (2016-2025) will be conducted beginning from over the next two weeks beginning on Monday. The ten-nation bloc will declare an Asean Community at year-end.

The Asean Community is made up of three pillars pillars - the Asean Political-Security Community (APSC), Asean Economic Community (AEC) and the Asean Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC).

"As Community-building is an ongoing process, Asean has established a high-level task force to develop the Asean Community Vision 2025 and three Asean Community Blueprints (2016-2025) to be adopted at the 27th Asean Summit in Kuala Lumpur in November 2015," the MFA said.

"In line with the Government's approach to consult stakeholders on issues of public interest, MFA, MTI and MSF, as the respective focal points for Singapore for the three Community Pillars, will be conducting a public consultation exercise on the APSC, AEC and ASCC Blueprints."

Stakeholders and interested members of the public are invited to share their views on the Community Blueprints through the official websites of the ministries from 8am on Monday to 6pm on 16 July.

Singapore is also hosting the 7th meeting of the high-level task force this week. The task force comprises senior officials from the 10 Asean member states. Ambassador-at-Large Ong Keng Yong is Singapore's representative to the task force.
